Re:a "NO" toddler - 2006/11/30 17:52 Hi brianna, its nice to know someone is in the same boat! I have a 3 year and six months boy and I have been having the same problems since he turned three. I was told that saying no is their way of showing off their independence.

Re:a "NO" toddler - 2006/11/30 17:58 My baby used to love water so much he may have been a fish in his past life. But now, whenever I tell him to go take a shower he looks at me wildly and say N--O--NO! It may be part of their independence but well, it's really irritating and I am beginning to lose my patience. I really don't know how I can get him to do things my way.

Re:a "NO" toddler - 2006/11/30 18:02 I know it's so frustrating to hev your child look innocent at you and say NO! to whatever it is you tell him to do. Well, there, is a way though. Apply reverse psychology. If you want him to do something then tell him not to do it. Liek if you want him to take a shower then tell him not to take a shower! By showing off his independence, he will march straight to the shower just to defy you!

Re:a "NO" toddler - 2008/02/17 13:48 the toddler is in his phallic stage so it is only natural that he is negativistic. He will always say no to everything. So if you have to let him choose to do something give him options that doesn't include a "no". http://www.babylandgifts.com/
